Wash Cloth? Or Plain old hands? body wash or soap?

I've always had trouble making the transition between a wash cloth and soap to plain old hands and lathering yourself down with body wash... Because I'm worried about all the different affects that things have with your skin.

So here's my question:

Should I use a wash cloth, or just my hands?

Should I use body wash, or soap?

What should I use for my face, and for my body? (I've heard that you should use different stuff for your face)

Either works well.

If you use soap, it will leave residue on the shower walls.

If you use liquid body wash, it does not leave much if any residue on the shower walls.

Now for your skin. You can use either one.

My husband uses body bath wash and his hands. I use the body bath wash using a nylon net scrubbie.

He uses the same bath wash for his face and body. I use Neutregena Liquid and wash rag for my face and bath wash and scrubbie for rest of my body.

I believe it's just personal preference.

Growing up, we used washcloths and soap.

Then I grew up and used liquid soap and loofa (or net scrubbie thing) and sometimes I'll use just my hands and a bar of soap.

For me, it depends on how dirty I am and how long I have to spend in the shower. *shrug* I use different cleansing agents on my body than I do my face.

My husband uses the same bar of soap for everything. lol Needless to say, we have different soaps, scrubbies and all that.

I don't think there's a right or a wrong as far as what to use to get clean....

Well, it's not the *getting clean* part that worries me, it's the how good it is for your skin part ;P

To my knowledge, the liquid bath is no worse for the skin than a bar of soap.

You could ask your dermatologist this question.

Re: Wash Cloth? Or Plain old hands? body wash or soap?

Bar soap usually leaves behind a residue on my skin and makes me break out, so I don't use it! I like a liquid body wash, but of course anything scented can irritate sensitive skin.

For what to use, as long as your washcloth/loofah is clean, it should be fine. Some people use the same one for so long and it's all nasty. I use my hands fo rmy face and occasionally use a washcloth to exfoliate. For my body I use a little shower puff.
