Help with Boils ?? - General Health Message Board

Don't know where to post this one..

Not sure what Boils really are, but my sister has them on her behind. She has been taking penicillian Flopen for a week. nothing is helping. she tried bathing in dettol but says she can feel another one coming up.
So Meds aren't helping. any suggestions for her ??

I can't help her. I thought they were hemmroids. She says those ones hurt less.

Can someone tell me what they are and what causes them.

they are an infection caused by staph bacteria... flopen kills most staph (though some strains are resistant)

when she gets a boil, moist heat applied regularly throughout the day will speed it comming to a head, at which point you can ***** it and give it a gental squeeze from inderneath to express the puss and core. After doing this, clean it with antispetic.

To prevent boils, wash in the shower every day with an antibacterial clenser such as Hibiclens or an antiseptic bar soap such as Dettol Soap or Valderma instead of soap and shampoo (wahs between the buttocs and under the arms with it, shampoo your hair with it, and pour some onto a wash vloth and lather it up all over the body... wait 30 seconds and rinse off) and to get rid of the staph in the nose, put a bit of Savlon on a cotton bud inside each nostril every day after showering, squeezing them to gether to spread it around.

Eww this stuff sounds painful. Does it look like a pimple ?? i'm only guessing.

She said they're quite common on your armpit or butt. she has two on her bottom. hurts to sit.
