Re: what's the cause of pain in the chest, back and stomach all at the same time

Wow, a ton of things!

A few questions to narrow down the field - what kind of pain? What does it feel like? (stabbing? aching? burning? Is there a crushing sensation?) Is the pain all over or in spots?

It could be a simple case of heartburn (severe heartburn can cause chest and back pain) to something as serious as heart trouble - and lots of things inbetween. Have you seen your doctor about it yet?

Re: what's the cause of pain in the chest, back and stomach all at the same time

i recently had this and had to go to ER...my chest was killing me (left side) to where it hurt to take a breath, my upper stomach was hurting too and below my rib cage and my back.....was told it could be gallbladder related even though no stones were found or heartburn or ibs......is your pain on the left side, right side, all over? does it come and go? mine would come on all of a sudden (starting with the chest and back pain first along with the upper stomach) and last a few hours,, or is it constant????? you should go see ur dr. cuz there are numerous things it could be; heart, gallbladder, liver, pancreatis, etc. hope you feel better! if it gets too bad like you cant hardly take a breath, go to ER, rather spend 4 hrs. in ER for heartburn than having serious health prob.s and not know about it!!!!!

Let me join in the crowd here and note that it could be heart trouble. That can kill you. If you're having a heart blockage and ignore it, death is likely. GO TO THE ER.

It could also be a lot of other things. You can feel embarrassed, AFTER they tell you you're not having a heart attack. I've done that, more than once. One of my coworkers had similar symptoms, went to the ER on our insistence, and WAS having a heart attack.

Another coworker never reported symptoms but was a heavy go-getter ambitious type likely to try to "tough it out." Found dead at his desk at the age of 42, leaving three small children behind. GO TO THE ER and make sure it's not something dangerous.
