Dent in top of head

Hi all again, new here so having a few probs knowing where to post, but here goes.

I have a dent in my skull, on the top, I assume it's from the soft spot thats on all babies heads and mine hasnt closed evenly, but is this normal? Has anyone else got this? I have always been worried that it will look freaky, but even more so now im older and the famliy legacy of losing hair is coming upon me!

Pete

Re: Dent in top of head

I have 2 soft spots on the top of my head. My doc didn't know what it was. Went to dermatologist for hair loss and brought up my soft spots. She took a biopsy and had an ANA blood test done. ANA came back normal but biopsy came back as lupus. Still trying to get my meds straighted out - new to the lupus scene and still investigating options. You might want to check that out.

Re: Dent in top of head

Wow...interesting info. Why would the Lupus cause the soft spots ?
I wonder how many reading this post have just examined their heads.

Re: Dent in top of head

Hi a relative of mine has some lines in his where the skull sutures are. I would be interested in a picture sent as an attatchment, if there is a cell phone to take a close up of the area without a picture of the face to keep identity.

Are there any headaches?

Is there a butterfly rash on the face?

Were there any head injuries as a child or later on?

Re: Dent in top of head

My ex husband had the very same worries, and did go on to loose his hair "there". All of our heads are misshapen in some ways, but I know when men feel a dent that seems like a cliff, it can be scary.

In the end, the cliff (as he called it) was bald, but it looked perfectly fine to the rest of us. His great personality made any physical issues disappear, as it does with all of us.

Best to you...

So sorry to hear the lupus story though...

Re: Dent in top of head

As far as I know, usually dents, bumps, and ridges are normal. I've sometimes wondered about my own dent in the back top left of my head (mine is covered by hair.) But everywhere I've looked, the evidence suggests most people do not have a perfectly smooth skull. Normal variation, and all that.

Re: Dent in top of head

They really wouldn't show up in a picture. They are on both sides of middle and top of my index finger down to the first knuckle lays inside the dent. I had skull xrays and it's not sutures. No headaches. Dealing with lots of hair loss on the top of my head. The biopsy came right out of my dent and the doc saw that the skin was starting to thin. My doc also sees some red patches on my scalp, which I really don't see and they aren't itching or anything.

Just got the diagnosis about 1 month ago and developed an alergic reaction to the first med. Have to start of new med, probably in about a week.

That's really all I know right now. If I come up with more information, I'll let you know.

Re: Dent in top of head

Hi well if a person wanted to they could take a picture of copies of the x-rays instead to let us look. If it is extra expense for the copies it is ok we will do without.

It was not made clear if there is a butterfly like rash on the face itself.

I would like to know, how much citrus, potatoes with skin and sweet peppers are eaten?
