Re: how do know if my apendix is bad
seeing your doc real soon wouldn't hurt since it is generating heat. that could be an indication of many different possibilities. the one way to tell whether or not this is indeed your appendix is if you have what is called rebound tenderness? this is where you palpate the affected area and push down into it a bit,if the pain is worse when you let go(when it 'rebounds" back to normal?) and not actually when you press into it,that is a good indication of possible inflammed appendix. this is a pretty good test to tell appendix involvement. but the generation of heat and pain just needs to be evaluated much sooner vs later. if this is indeed your appendix, and it is inflammed, the last thing you want to have happen is for it to burst. this would not be a good thing for you to have happen, trust me. it would introduce bacteria and other crappy stuff into your abdomen and create whats called peritonitis(sp?). a very painful infection. i would have this checked out today if you feel worse or anything gets worse. you would haveto go to the ER today, but you DO need to know whats up inthat area. i do wish you luck with this and please keep me posted. **
