Fractured Ankle Assistance

This past monday, I fell at gymnastics. I fell over the bars and landed in a gap in the mats, smashing my left foot on the concrete. I assumed it was a sprain so I waited a while, but when it didn't feel ANY better, I went to the doctor. I got some Xrays, and its fractured. I have a temporary cast now and have to get a fiberglass one tommarow or the next day. I am going to have it for 5-7 weeks.

I just checked the weather and there is SEVEN inches of snow on the way. I have to go to school, so I cannot just stay home. It is a non weight bearing cast, and I am worried that I will fall using the crutches in the snow because not everyone shovels the snow around here.

What are tips and suggestions for me?

Re: Fractured Ankle Assistance

Ask your parents to provide transportation or arrange for transporation to and from school.

If you are in college, maybe one of your friends will pick you up.

Most likely there are taxis available, yes, expensive but sometimes we have to pay the price when there are no alternatives.

Re: Fractured Ankle Assistance

you shouldn't venture out while the going is treacherous. the teacher/teachers should be able to have someone drop by with what is required for you to keep up.
if you are in college, then it's a different story, but in high school it's required to help house-bound students.
make a phone call and keep safe.
