For past 2 weeks, several times a day, I get the feeling of numbness in 1 of my legs. It started around my knee, but now goes all the way up the front part of my leg. Actually I Have had numbness in my toes on both feet here and there for a long time. But the leg thing is new. I do drink and smoke (Yes, I now plan to quit) and I am on med for a little high blood pressure that runs in my family. Any suggestions?
Having toes that are numb means that you have a nerve that is being pinched in your back. The fact that you have areas that go numb or tingly tells me that nerves are being compressed on and off during the day. Sooner or later your will have issues with your back if you don't already. The fact that your toes are numb tells me that you already have problems with compression. The smoking doesn't help-but you already know that.
What can you do? Well, you can go into your doctor if you are having pain with it. He can refer you to therapy or a good back doctor.Therapy can work with you and give you exercises that can help.
