high tryglcerides

Is there a natural way to lower my tryglcerides without taking a prescription drug? Would taking supplement called Niacin be just as good to try first or any other suggestions? I am not overweight and eat sensibly. In the past watching portions and what I eat better and exercising helped a lot but now help very little.
