do doctors ever read the intake form?
Every time I go to a doctor, I have to fill out the form that asks a million questions about my health history. Then when the nurse takes my vitals, she asks the same questions over again. Then the doctor swings by, snatches my chart off the door, and asks me the same questions without looking at the chart.
So I've started to test my theory that no one ever reads these questionnaires. Lately whenever I go to a doctor, I write just one thing odd on the form. For instance, today's form asked if my blood relatives had any medical conditions, so under "brother," I wrote "mean." Just a little joke, but something that I thought the doctor or nurse would mention if they saw it. Didn't happen.
So if you're a health care professional and you read this, please know... I'm onto you. I think you make people fill out these forms just to take up time till you're ready to see them. I hope at least you recycle.
