Went to see a Chiropractor Internist... - General Health Message Board

Ok, it was either the emergency room or a Chiropractor Internest (sp?) and the Dr was closer. I was in such great pain, it hurt to breathe! My neck across my back was in such pain, I couldn't stand it and I have a high tolorance of pain. This guy said that he could feel my spine was way out of alignment thus causing the pain. My question is, why won't 800 mg of IB Profin help the pain? I tried Bio Freeze and it helped a little bit and before I got into him, I took half of a muscle relaxer and that didn't help. I do have some Lidoderm pain patches but I saw a commercial of some kind of pain patch that has had problems and I'm not sure if its what I have or not.

Can someone tell me what you experience on Bio Freeze? It was really weird for me and I felt like someone put a block of ice on me!!! I was cold! It never warmed up, but it did feel like it was burning a bit...is that normal?? How long does it last for you once you apply it? How many times do you use it in a days time? I wonder if I can use the patch right after the Biofreeze??

Although he's not treating me for it, he also said that I have frozen shoulder...any idea what I can do for that?

[COLOR="Navy"]Lidoderm pain patches will allow the meds to seep into your body from the patch over a 12 hour period. The are by presciprtion only and are strong. You can use it right after you have used the bio freeze. The Lidoderm patches are not the ones that have been in the recall.

If you took half a muscle relaxer it can take 45 minute to take effect. And 800 mg of ibuprophen isn't going to touch back pain or nerve pain. Aleve works better on back pain as it has a muscle relaxer in it. If you aren't used to taking muscle relxer, you shouldn't be driving after you are taking them as they can make you loopy.

The BioFreeze does feel cold..hence the name. It does help, but it never gave me a warmed up feeling. You can only get the biofreeze brand from chioropractors. I understand that there is a similar brand out that you can get a CVS for several $$ less that works equally well.

A frozen should usually requires either being sedated to have it unfrozen or extreme PT to loosen it up so that you can have full range of motion again.[COLOR]
