possible reasons for fainting?

My close relative, Male 19 yrs old, had fever few days back and suddenly fell down being sense less . He regularly suffers for cold and cough After he fainted , we had done blood test and found that the platelets count is 80000 and WBC count is 15000, The local Doctor here suggest him for bone marrow test now. Does he run risk on leukemia? What are the other risks involved. Is this problem curable?
