Well, I had 2 shoulders that hurt when I lay on them and it turned out to be partial rotator cuff tears in 1 and a full tear in the other. Time to see a doc and get it checked out.

I agree with Jenny. i had the same problem and just had surgery for a rotator cuff tear.

I've had shoulder pain from a Shoulder Impingement/ Burtsitis/ Tendonitis. For me there is most pain with upper movements. At times, it can be tough to find a comfortable sleeping position.

If the pain continues or any loss of range of movement, you should consult a doctor. My doc first recommended anti-inflammatories and ice when I started having pain.
