hello there! i just wondered if anyone has the same as me? its driving me insane! throughout the day i eat breakfast which normally consists of toast or cereals, then i get hungry about an hour or two later so ill have a snack and then ill eat my lunch which is always alot so it fills me up, and then an hour later i can be hungry again!!! im so confused as i try to eat things that fill me up like carbs but im constantly starving!!!
Also if i get really hungry i can feel shaky n slightly dizzy. has anyone any tips on what i should eat or what to do!!!? im 26, 5 foot 6 and about 9 stone.
Toast and (dry) cereals tend to be fast digesting carbohydrates that do not keep you full for very long. Oatmeal may be a better choice instead of toast and (dry) cereals, if you want it to keep you from getting hungry too quickly.
Foods high in water and fiber with some protein and fat tend to keep you from getting hungry for longer periods of time.
Like tj said, you want to make sure you get PROTEIN with your meals to help fill you up. Toast and cereal are high sugar carbs and make you hungry shortly afterwards. Try adding eggs or meat to your breakfast and make sure you are eating a healthy protein with your lunch such as chicken, turkey or tuna.
I second and third what was mentioned in previous posts, but you might possibly be having some kind of blood sugar or thyroid problems. I may be way off, but you might schedule an appointment with your doctor. Hope you get the answers you need.
Eat protein..you're eating all carbs, which are digested quickly, causing a spike in your blood sugar for a short time, but then your blood sugar drops and your body tells you to eat....now you're going for more carbs for the quick fix and the cycle continues. Add protein to your meals and you'll be amazed at the difference. Good proteins.....milk, peanut butter, an egg, lean meat, yogurt, cheese.
Thanks guys so much 4 your advice! iam definately going to take it all on board! im going to have eggs for my lunch now!! Another thing, does anybody know why i might feel dizzy and weak when i get hungry??! Thankyou again!
