Hi everyone,

I am a 23 year old male. A couple of years ago, I noticed two lumps on my right thigh...one is the size of a dime, the other the size of a penny. They are about 10 inches apart from each other, and you can draw a straight line from one to the other. I went to my doctor, and she said they were lipomas, and to keep an eye on them to see if they have grown. Two years later, I see no change. They are soft and movable, and do not hurt.

Recently, I noticed a couple more. One is on my side, above my left hip (at the bottom of rib cage). It is smaller and a little harder. No pain.

I have another on my right side, on top of one of my ribs. Again, its small (about the same size as the one on my right size), but this one hurts if I press on it.

Finally, I have a pea-sized lump on the inside of my right arm, right above my elbow. It's hard and it hurts the most out of any. It doesn't hurt with movement, but it does if I lie my arm in such a way that a pillow is pressed on it, for example. I'm hoping that its some kind of cyst.

Does anyone have any advice on these three new "appearances"? I'm starting to get worried because naturally, any lump is out of the ordinary. I don't know if its relevant, but my mother also had breast cancer.

Any time you have a new lump, you should have it checked out and not assume it is the same thing as the ones you had before.

Dude I feel your pain. I have some unknown lymph nodes/cysts on different areas of my body. Unfortunately, nobody on this board answers your questions. It sucks but your thread will just sit here for days with no answers that mean anything.

Your new "appearances" sound exactly like lipomas. If the lumps hurt or get bigger, you should see your doctor. The doctor can remove them during an office visit. I have had multiple lipomas removed during the last 14 years. I have had ten removed so far this year. My doctor says he can see at least 30 more. He will only remove them if they get bigger or hurt. These lumps are almost always benign. My doctor also said that if you get one lipoma, you will almost always develop more, and unfortunately, the doctors do not know what causes them to form.
