| Re: Car emissions/ respirators
I think you can rest assured that if the car passed the emissions test, what it is putting into the air is likely harmless while driving. I phrased it that way...because if you lock yourself in a garage for an hour with the car running...no matter how the emissions test was, I'm sure there would be some harmful effects. Under normal driving conditions however, you should be fine.
I don't want to be negative, but the car emissions aren't the only thing to worry about. There are additives in our food, other pollutants in the air and chemicals in our homes that probably aren't helping us.
That being said...try to enjoy life without the worry of all this. Life is too short to be overly concerned with one thing or the other. It's hard to say what causes what diseases in individuals. Some people can smoke for 75 years and not have a lung problem. Someone who never smoked, might have various lung problems. Take what precautions you can, but don't let it worry you to the extent that you don't enjoy yourself.
