Afternoon. Hoping to find some free online advice. This morning I was stepping into a boat from the trailer frame. I had my left leg extended, knee locked, toes on the frame and comming up with my right leg. I heard a loud pop and instant pain in my left calf. It felt like someone hit me on the calf with a baseball bat. I've found that it I tip-toe on the left foot that I can limp along. Very painful if I raise the toes up or down that flexes the muscle. No visible bruising. Calf is swollen and muscle seems to be balled up or higher than normal. I am thinking that I may have torn a ligament. I have a Doctors appointment in two days and was going to have it looked at then. Wife suggests the emergency room. Looking for some advice as to whether to wait or get it looked at sooner.
It sounds like you have may have ruptured your Achilles tendon. You should try to get in to the doctor asap, although an er probably isn't necessary. Did you call your doc and tell them what happened, or was the appointment already scheduled? This injury requires immobilization, crutches, and possibly surgery.
