I just bent down to pick something up and bashed my head on a table. Is a blow of this strength enough to cause brain damage. I recognise that i'm being paranoid but I have rarely bashed my forehead before and this really quite hurt.
Hi. I've been struggling to concentrate since this happened. I've also suffered temporary hearing loss since this happened and that may have contributed. I keep on doing daft things like shampooing my hair three times today, my sense of balance is poor and I have been struggling with prioritising and general concentration. Also, Ive been very short of breath, which is unusual as i'm a healthy person.
Often with a concussion you will have unequal pupils, vomiting, excessive sleepiness. However, I did hit my head hard a few times through out the years. Recently I had a brain scan because I lost my vision in one eye for a few minutes. Unrelated to the vision loss, it was discovered I have unusual calcifications in the brain with a few possible reasons, one of them being a trauma. So, yes injury can happen and I think that was a reasonable question. Now I have to have scans every six months to see if there are changes to rule out if this was something I was born with or as a result of injury.
Thanks. On a further note. I have recently been told by a doctor that I have suffered no hearing loss after frequent noise exposure. I want to know if it is only the patient who can tell if their hearing has lessened?
Also, I swallowed some shampoo and got deodrant in my eye recently. Can these cause damage. I have had a blocked throat since swallowing shampoo.
