Stomach aches

Hello i am 24 years old and for years now i have been waking up every morning with a stomach ache, it feels like i have to vomit but i dont, in fact my stomach feels like its being sqeezed or tightened. I usually drink some water to relieve the pain in which it stops in a minute or two after drinking something. But even so my stomach wants to reject what i drink like acid reflux, and i have to hold it down so i dont throw up. But like i said, after i drink something i can feel my stomach expand and i feel alot better for the rest of the day. This is something that only happens when i wake up in the morning, and it hurts real bad until i drink something. I have tried to eat and not eat before bed, i have woken up early to see if that would prevent it, but it doesnt. And i do not have gas or diahhrea, so i know its not a gastric or bowel syndrome.. i dont have medical insurance so i never went to the doctor, but its something that does hurt real bad and bothers me in the morning.

Re: Stomach aches

It could still be a gastrointestinal issue, even in the absence of gas or diarrhea. Just a shot in the dark here. You said you've tried eating before bed. If water relieves the pain in the morning, have you tried drinking water before you go to bed to see if that makes a difference in the morning? Our bodies naturally lose fluid overnight due to dehydration, and drinking a glass or two of water as soon as you wake in the morning is advised to get us refueled for a new day. I do understand the no inusurance problem. Have been there. But if you've been suffering for this long, you may want to save up for a visit. Hope you get some answers. You may want to try posting under digestive disorders. Someone there may recognize your symptoms and be able to help. Good luck.

Do you have allergies/sinus issues? If so, it could be PND that's causing the problem and I'd suggest a cup of tea or some ginger ale instead of the water. Also, antihistamines to control the PND.

It doesnt have to be water, as long as i put something in my stomach in the morning, i just use water cause its quicker than cooking something, but dont get me wrong, i still eat breakfast..lol. I havent tried drinking water before bed, i guess i never thought that dehydration would cause stomach aches..

No i dont have any allergies, the feeling i get in my stomach is like its empty and i havent ate in days, so its like my stomach is tightening up or being sqeezed. I forgot to mention that it doesnt have to be water, i can eat food too and it will go away. Its just that water is quicker. I use to think that i had a over active stomach, because i tried eating a bunch of food before bed but my stomach still felt empty in the morning. Because when i eat or drink something i can literally feel my stomach getting fuller and its a sudden relief. I do know i have a high metabalism and im a bit on the skinny side, my family said it might be a over active stomach if theres such thing? A stomach that continues to do its work even if theres no food? Is it possible that my stomach is trying to digest stuff that aint there while im asleep and thats why i feel relieved after i eat something in the morning?
