Mouth ulcers/ swolen tongue after wisdom teeth removed

Hello, not really sure where to post this!

I had 4 wisdom teeth removed last Friday (14th) under GA, was no pain after and everything seemd to be fine. Over the weekend I started to get really bad mouth ulcers all over my mouth and under my tounge and yesterday my tongue started to swell and it still is. I have no pain from where the teeth were removed from but am in huge discomfert from the ulcers and tongue and can barely speak or hurts when I swallow. I went to the Dentist today and she precribed me some mouthwash as she said it was viral but if it got worse seek help...but she didnt seem to sure tbh. I finished my course of antibiotics, painkillers etc yesterday and am not sure if it was a reaction to them or to keep taking them or not. Just a bit worried thought I would ask on here.

Thanks for reading!

Re: Mouth ulcers/ swolen tongue after wisdom teeth removed

After the removal of the wisdom teeth it is normal for your throat to hurt and your tongue to feel strange. The mouth ulcers are not a common reaction. You were seen today and it doesn't sound like the dentist was concerned. Use the mouthwash and see how you feel in a couple of days. It takes longer for some people to recover. If you finished all your meds yesterday then you don't have to worry about taking anymore.
I don't think it's a reaction to the meds, but everything is possible. Do what the dentist advised you and you should start feeling better soon.
