My wife is having a severe left side stomach pain. This remains for many hours and after taking pain killer the pain goes off and do not come back. Such pain randomly happens in a month. She has undergone with such pain third time.
Done all the tests like CTC, Sonography, blood test etc. But no findings so far except one. We found that she has gallbladder stones. But doctors are saying this stone formation is not the cause of the pain.
There are no other symptoms ( no fever etc ) Just pain.
Kindly advise the possible reason
Her age is 29 and never had any kind of pain in past. She has delivered a baby year before.
No she has not shown herself to any Gynecologist but gastroenterologists. They are saying every thing is normal.
Is there any other tests which can be done? Should I show her to Gynecologist? We are waiting for urine culture test results.
When you stated that the pain happens in a month, did you mean that it happens once a month? If this is the case, I would highly suspect, especially since she's just had a baby, that your wife is having reproductive issues in the female department and I would suggest taking her to a Gynecologist.
If all else has been ruled out, there's not much more it can be.
No it is not per month always. It happens randomly. In last 3 months the pain has occured 4 times. 2 times the pain was v mild and it did not last more than 1 hrs.
Today we have got a report of urine culture. Looks like all is right.
Could it be because of galbladder stones? I will show her to the gynocologists also.
You stated that pain was in left side. Gallstones would cause pain in right side.
I have no idea, but I keep thinking she might have something like endometriosis which can cause pain. I had it.
Does she have any of the symptoms listed below?
The most common symptoms of Endometriosis are:
•Pain before and during periods
•Pain with intercourse
•General, chronic pelvic pain throughout the month
•Low back pain
•Heavy and/or irregular periods
•Painful bowel movements, especially during menstruation
•Painful urination during menstruation
•Diarrhoea or constipation
Other symptoms which are common with Endometriosis include:
The most common symptom of diverticulitis is abdominal pain, tenderness around the left side of the lower abdomen. If there is an infection then nausea, vomiting, feeling hot while having no fever, cramping, and constipation may occur too. Diverticulitis worsens throughout the day, it starts as small pains and slowly turns into vomiting and possibly sharp pains.
My husband had it a couple of times and has to be careful not to eat too many things with seeds in it or nuts. Has she been eating anything unusual with seeds or nuts in it? Some folks are more sensative then others. Just something I happen to think of, so you could ask her Dr. to check. Hubby had to have a Ct scan done to detect it.
Wishing you and your wife well...JJ....
When you come to the end of your rope..tie a knot and hang on!
