I am a 16 year old male who has been experiencing trouble chewing/swallowing food after I get full. Th problem is that I get full very easily and If I try to eat after that I start to gag on my food. People are able to eat even if they are full without gagging. I want to be a regular human and actually gain weight because I weigh only 100 pounds at age 16...
Please someone help... If there is a special doctor or specialist I need to see please respond...
PLEASE
This may sound unusual, but my hubby has just been diagnosed with an "elongated uvula". I know it has a funny name, but it is something that happens to people that give then that choking feeling.
Look down your throat and look at your uvula, the little hanging thing in the back of your throat. In some cases, like my hubby's, this thing lengthens, and actually can lay on the tongue, or even down the throat. Very aggravating. If you see your uvula is touching anything in your throat, it needs to be seen by an Ear, Nose and Throat Doctor.
I would never have believed this if I hadn't seen it for myself!

Wow, that was interesting! Learn something new every day.
Thanks for the info.
It was a first for me as well, and we have done our share of laughing hysterically, just by saying the words. Not to mention that the specialty is called Otalaryngology. the procedure is done with a lasar, and this doctor plans on removing 50% of his.
Never knew it actually had a name..... A couple of times when I had a bad sore throat or sinus issue mine would swell and man it did feel sooooo weird but only lasted a couple of days.
When I had my throat operated on 2 years ago due to a cyst on my Epiglottis gland my Dr. said mine was a tad larger then normal. Well now I know if I ever get it again what the problem is. Great info.
Enjoy your day, and keep the info. coming....JJ...
