Unhappy Balance problems at 20

i am 20 years old and starting about a year ago my balance has gone down hill. i have been riding horses since the age of five and until a year ago i had only fallen off 5 times in that time. (14 years.) i had always been known for some incredible "saves". but i noticed that starting a year ago i havent been able to correct my balance when the horse tries to jump out from under me. april of last year my horse fell down to her knees and normally i would have stayed with her no problem but i fell off and broke my right collarbone. then in september i was riding my horse (i had always over looked this one because i was being stupid) but my horse barely bucked and she took off and i fell off the right side onto the arena fence and broke my right scapula. it was on video and when i watched it i noticed that even though i was being stupid i should have stayed with her no problem. then in december i fell off again when i should have stayed on and again in janurary i fell off again...each of those times i fell off to the right side as well. then 6 days ago a horse i was riding just barely bucked and she scooted her butt to the left and i flew off of her to the right....and today i was riding a mule and she kind of did a slight scoot to the left (while at the walk) and i flew off to the right. my friend that was watching was laughing because literally a 2 year old would have stayed on....so i am worried that something is going on with my balance where i cant recover as quick as i used to. i ride and train horses for a living so i need to know if i should be concerned. i ride between 4 and 9 horses a day...some of them are very young and dont know anything and i HAVE to be able to stay on them.

Re: Balance problems at 20

I definately would have this checked out as it sounds like your Equilibrium is off. Have a talk with your Dr. as there needs to be some tests run to see what is going on, as it is weird it is always to the right plus now a vision problem.

Wishing you the best...JJ...
