Re: having to go to bathroom

Do you mean after EVERY meal you have to go...i'm assuming you mean a bm?

or it after a particular time of the day after a specific meal?

Eating triggers peristalsis. ... if you have stool in the sigmoid colon, it will start to move towards the rectum, triggering the urge to go.

But, if you have any inflammation in the lower colon/rectum...that could also be part of the problem, because things can move faster when peristalsis happens and there is anything, no matter how small, the urge to go can happen.

Are you eating a lot of food? Are you eating lots of fruits and veggies? Are you consuming lots of artificial sweeteners?

Re: having to go to bathroom

Might be something to do with irritable bowel or gall bladder. Do you keep track of what you are eating and specific triggers any worse than others? Any other symptoms such as nausea or cramping? Before my gall bladder was removed and IBS diagnosed that was the same situation I had. Even now I find foods that don't agree with me and I know in minutes that I ate something I shouldn't have.

I'd start keeping a diary of what you eat. Fruits and veges were actually some of the worse when I had problems. Maybe start with rice, toast, oatmeal and work your way up the food pyramid.

All anecdotal advice here from my experiences. Maybe a doctor would have much better advice. It is a tough position to be in though when there isn't a bathroom handy or avialable when the need arises!

Re: having to go to bathroom

Are you having loose stools? I read a long time ago that we are suppose to "go" after every meal, that it's pretty healthy to do that. I know it is bothersome though. Could be all the fiber you are taking in.

Re: having to go to bathroom

Hi if the bowels are what is meant the peristalsis from eating causes the muscles of the digestive system to move also so the whole system is stimulated to move in my understanding.
