Chest pressure, anxiety, GERD, and no diagnosis yet!
Good day, I have a complex medical situation that no one seems to have identified yet. This is causing me great frustration, worry, and money.
I want to say to everyone, please get well and have long-lasting decent health with happy lives!
My symptoms are:
• Anxiety / panic (no history of such)
• Difficulty swallowing (could be trauma from a muscle / nerve damage)
• Minor 24/7 chest pressure (took an ECG and blood work for heart attack; all came by negative)
• GERD (although getting better, still burp excessively throughout the day)
• I feel major chest pressure when I go up stairs, cardio, sit-up’s, walk medium / long distances, run 5 -10 steps, eat, and talk. Seems whenever I use my left chest muscles it gets worst.
33-year-old male, living in NYC. No major health problems prior to this.
Election Day, I took an herbal pill with three times caffeine due to dieting. Was taken to the ER due to rapid heartbeat, nervousness, and anxiety. Spent the overnight for blood work to indicate if I had a heart attack. I did not.
I ate a sandwich fine. The next day, I had an ECG where the tech pushed its circular device into my nipple area rather harshly. I was in pain for 20-25 minutes, but did not say anything.
2005, I had surgery for Gynecomastia. Since then my chest felt as if it did not properly heal which could have made an object jammed in my nipple area, plausible to cause some kind of damage some place.
I have seen 2 G.I. doctors, Primary physician, and Internalist.
24-hour pH Exam
Biopsy of my stomach
Swallowing Study (two different tests)
Stomach Emptying Study
Endoscopic of my esophagus
Sonogram x 2
EKG x 6
= all indicating NOTHING!
I asked for a CT scan that can possibly see if any muscle / nerve damage is present. In addition, to see if my Esophagus muscle is damaged.
Today, I felt very strong chest pressure, similar to last Nov – Jan 2011. I took a pain medication.
Every time I swallow a food (nothing heavy since Nov), it doesn’t swallow quickly like it did and once it goes down, I immediately feel more chest pressure.
An Internalist wants me to see another G.I. doctor. NO MORE! We talked about a CT scan but he doesn’t want to do it.
There must be some kind of test that can help me here. I cannot keep running back and forth between pricy specialists who play, like they have no idea my symptoms are real.
A Cardiologist who I will file a complaint against shortly, stated my symptoms are “psychological” and I should see a psychologist! It’s been 5 months, I have been in pain, and no one knows way. I do more research than my doctors do. This isn’t right!
Please help me. Doctors took an oath to help. Please help me.
