| Head Injury?
Almost two years ago, in July of 2009, I went with my camp on a field trip to a lake. The lake is manmade and they have rides. I saw a really cool attraction where you sit on a solid, hard board (not sure what it's made of) and you shoot straight down into the lake, and across the water. I decided to take a spin on it. The moment that the board shot across the water, it began to turn around, but I fell off and the board hit me, hard, on the head. I got out of the water and shook it off. I wanted to try the ride again, ignoring the fact that I just hurt my head. The second time I went on, the same thing happened and I was hit on the head again. Thinking nothing of it, I went on the third time and my ride was successful. (I did not get hurt in any way.) However, ever since that summer, I've been experiencing pain. At first, it felt like something was wrong with my right ear, it felt muffled, especially behind it. I went to the doctor and she said that I had an ear infection. I put some drops in my ear, but I still felt the same way. When I went to the doctor again, she said that my ear infection was gone, so she suggested that I go to a nose, ear, and throat doctor, to check out what was wrong with me. I went and the specialist said that nothing was wrong with my ear, and it was probably an overbite problem with my jaw. He wanted to make sure, so he asked me to come back for some tests and if it really wasn't my ear, he'd send me over to an orthodontist. He suggested that I didn’t chew any gum and wear hats for warmth. My mother never took me back because she figured it was nonsense, that it really was my ear and that the specialist didn’t know what he was talking about. (My mom doesn't trust doctors). It's been over a year since I visited the specialist and almost two years since I went on that ride. By now, my neck on the right side is always in uncomfortable pain, and sometimes I detect a pressure point on about the right side of my head, around the place I got hit. My ear has kept the same, kind of muffled feeling. I don't know what to do and I'm seriously worried. I regret going on that ride and I really wish that I hadn't, but I was reckless. Now, as a teen in high school, I'm tired of this pain on the upper ride side of my body. (My right shoulder feels weird sometimes too as does my spine, even though I've had a bad back for years - I can't seem to hold myself up straight.) I don’t know if anyone can please tell me what my problem is or can assist me with any kind of useful information – that’d really be great. Thank you. =)
