Don't know what's up...help....

Ok...long list of symptoms...female and 44 years old with no insurance.

Realize that I CAN and Do feel fine with no symptoms at least 40-50% of the time...but feeling good has become the exception...not the rule....and I'm not ok with that. I'm a full time student in school with a tough load. I work full time, have a family (husband and 2 kids) and a home and I'm sure that I'm legitimately just freaking tired and stressed....but I dont feel right and am worried that something is wrong and getting more wrong.

Much of my problem lies in my gut. I've had these symptoms on and off for over 2 years...but they've lately gotten more persistent and, with this, my overall day-to-day discomfort and symptom issues have increased:

Distended upper abdomen...feeling of hardness and fullness from sternum to pubis (only during exacerbations...otherwise belly is soft though distension may still be slightly seen)...occassional cramping on right side during bowel movements that feels like everything is just twisting up into a ball...

Sporadic thoracic area symptoms (only really notable when gut is acting up but still scary enough to make me wonder if it's the problem or a secondary symptom)...heart murmur, heart palpitations, feeling of breathlessness...(can wake me up at night during bad bouts).

System wide symptoms: (these haven't happened often in the past but are very distressing and have now become frequent enough to concern me): feeling as though in a dream where everything is in slow motion...fingers FEEL puffy but don't actually appear to be in reality...sudden onset of severe exhaustion that will start out of nowhere and go away just as quickly...almost like being wiped out from drinking in the sun on a hot summer day and needing a nap... but without having ingested any alcohol...or that exhaustion one gets in early pregnancy that just knocks you on your butt...(and nope...NOT pregnant.)

Symptoms are not entirely linked to constipation although that does seem to make them worse, I think. I'd had a ultrasound last year along with an x-ray...no hernia or obstruction seen and no sign of back-up/constipation...which is kinda what I expected to have them see.

Weirdly...gut symptoms can seem to sometimes be exacerbated by eating but can also appear to be relieved by eating something small occassionally.

Any ideas??? I'm sick of guessing but cant really afford to go in for a complete bout of tests without an idea of where I think my issues my lie.
thanks in advance.

PS: had some basic bloodwork done and nothing overly out of whack although I think I need to go back and get a complete screening...

Re: Don't know what's up...help....

Hi some states offer public health assistance to help pay insurance for those who can't afford it.

Constipation might be relieved by avoiding refined foods, snacks, meats, dairy, cheese, eggs and a switch to mostly fruits, vegetables, a moderate amount of whole grains, and dried pea beans cooked in crockpot or pressure cooker twice a week. A vegetarian can and often does have 2 or 3 bowel movements a day. Prune juice, oatmeal and Okra may be beneficial.

Sometimes a good warm quart of water in the morning a half an hour before breakfast or a bowel movement is useful. A little jiggling on the toilet may be useful if bad. A daily brisk walk is important to get the bowels stimulated to move it rocks them and the food moves through faster.

If there is pain about an hour after meals it may be there are gallstones and the pain may come particularly after fatty fried or oil foods, butters and even sweets if the attack is bad. This may be because there may be bacteria in the area fed by the sweets and cause the area to become more inflammed and irritated with the stone crystals digging into tissues.

Sometimes a heating pad may help the muscles relax a bit. Sometimes a cold pack may help if the stomach itself has suffered. Sometimes things such as ibuprofen cause terrible abdominal pain and even perforation later.
Have pills been taken? When does the pain show up? Are 6.25 cups of water consumed for every 100 pounds of body weight or so?
