Now I am worried

Been for my annual eye test and was told the pressure in my left eye is slightly more than the right eye also there has been a very small bleed behind the eye so I have to now see a specialist, they said it may be caused by high blood pressure or diabetes (which I know I don't have ) or glucoma
but as I seem to have a health phobia this has really got to me.

Re: Now I am worried

I encourage you to march right in and get that eye test done at the specialist. Do not let anything (especially you) stop you.

Your eyes do give your doctor a great view of other things going on in your body. All the specialist will do is take a look with more advanced machinery. It is painless, and no worse than a regular eye exam. Skipping this could skip your doctors chance to catch something very small, which could next become something bigger.

Do you have a friend you could bring along for moral support? I always like to do that.

Get it done and learn whatever he has to tell you, that is much better than the anxiety caused by the unknown.

I have my own experience with great damage to my eyes, after years of impossible to control blood pressure. I ended up having strokes on my retinas, as well as on my brain. I am not implying any of that for you, as you do not have HBP, that was my thing....but I learned how much the doctor can see through our eyes, and I now keep 3 month appointments with my eye doctor for close follow up. I have regained much of my vision, and am doing great now. Please get yourself in there, and let me know what happens, I am very interested in what you find out...

Re: Now I am worried

PLEASE get that checked out. These days they can fix things with much more modern things like lazer treatments etc. Being worried is normal..but do not let it cause you to not get it checked out and fixed.

Please keep us posted, and all the best wishes..JJ..
