In the past month or so I have noticed a shortness of breath like its hard to breath in a bit, quite annoying. And usual high heart rate. I find myself taking rather deep breaths & it feels i have to manually breath rather than it just coming naturally. It usually happens after exercise which ive been doing everyday for several months now. I'm pretty fit & my usual workout while long is easy as I have learned to pace my self. But latley i cant do my usual workout without needing small breaks in between as my heart rate eventually gets too high, But previously I could pace my self & last the workout. I think maybe small variables like cold weather kicking in & humidity & air. Sometimes i get wheezy & cough to clear my throat of Flem which helps alot. But soon after my air ways don't feel right & im shortness of breath. I noticed drinking small sips of water or drink helps the feeling in my throat & makes it feel a little easier but only for a small time. Id feel better if it was just asthma being sparked by workout or being low on certain vitamins or something.
Have you been checked out to see if you do have asthma? Being short of breath and wheezing isn't really normal unless you have some condition causing it. It also could be some kind of allergy. If your also getting a high heart rate it almost sounds like your not getting enough oxygen while doing your workouts. Time to get it checked out.
Good luck...JJ...

I had asthma when i was a kid, but grew out of it, well never had any issues or never needed Ventolin puffer since childhood. I'll have to see a doctor. ty
Hi sometimes if there is difficulty with breathing in humid conditions it may indicate a Candida Albicans problem. Asthma is also a problem with this yeast in many people.
In addition I noticed the name waterboi is swimming the exercise chosen? If so there might be an additional problem with chlorine if pools are used or a little water in the respiratory system from it.

nah it happens with using exercise bike. I try doing 30mins. Usually on an average good day I can do 15-20mins before taking a small break. But latley I find its hard to do 15mins. With taking 3 rests every 5mins to calm heart rate down. Today i could do 15mins, but I found breathing was harder.
Only advice I can offer is to get it checked out as it could be a pulminary problem, poor circulation or even the start of a heart problem. Trying to second guess what it is isn't going to work, you need some professional advice and some tests done. It might just be your asthma flaring up again even after al these years. Get a good physical.
Best wishes..JJ..

i must have some flem build up or something. hard to sleep atm. when i eat something it feels great, normal, like its cleared inside but soon after I can feel flem inside restricting my airway.
Have you had a cold recently? Post nasal drip will feel like that but I can't pin point the phelm thing after you have eaten. Like I said, if it feels like your airways are constricted it needs to be checked cause even a phelm buildup wouldn't hang around like that.

Hi ok I would check to make sure the breathing is through the nose and not the mouth. Breathing through the mouth may dry out and irritate tissues. I would also drink plenty of water before exercising. Hope this helps.
