Unpleasant aftertaste whenever I drink certain beverages while not eating
Whenever I drink certain beverages without having any food to absorb the drink, I get an unpleasant taste in my mouth. This doesn't happen with water or milk, but it does happen with soda or bottled Lipton green tea (the latter of which is what I drink most often).
This is something that has only happened in the last three years or so. Before that, I had never had this happen before.
What is wrong with me? And what should I be drinking instead?
Re: Unpleasant aftertaste whenever I drink certain beverages while not eating
Water and milk are the best things to drink anyway. They have been my staples for years as I've been dealing with health issues. Do you have the same problems with fresh fruit or vegetable juices? How about with homemade teas?
It could be you are reacting to ingredients added during processing with the drinks you listed.

I'm fine drinking water, which is what I drink whenever I'm not eating, but I would like something else for variety, and I'm not particularly keen on milk. As far as juices, I don't know, as I rarely drink them. Homemade tea would be good. Maybe I should start drinking that instead of bottled.

Possibly, but I'd like to know which ingredients so that I know what to avoid. Hopefully, someone here has had a similarly reaction.

You may have developed a sensitivity to certain ingredients used in the processing of the teas. If nothing serious has happened in 3 years, simple avoidance sounds like the best plan. If anything serious happens seek professional help.
