High Potassium / Low Sodium

For the last 2 years my potassium is coming in too high and my sodium is coming up too low in blood tests. I have hypo-thyroid but but my TSH levels are where they should be with the meds. I have no symptoms and feel fine. My doctor seems very concerned and is sending me to an Endocrinologist. Any suggestions what this could be?

Past Levels:
Sodium / Potassium
133 / 5.9
130 / 6.1
136 / 5.0
133 / 5.8

Normal ranges are Sodium 135-145, Potassium 3.4-5.0

Re: High Potassium / Low Sodium

No diruetics. But I take Anafranil, a side of which is dry mouth so I drink a lot during the day.

Re: High Potassium / Low Sodium

That could account for the low sodium. How is your kidney function?

Re: High Potassium / Low Sodium

I've never had any issues with my kidneys. Hopefully it's just the heavy drinking throwing my levels off. I read potassium does the opposite of sodium, so if one goes up the other goes down, etc.
