Mrsa

i work in a health care setting and i'm always a little worried about MRSA.

I just got one question which no one can seem to answer....

If i had a cut...and it got MRSA in it....and it got infected( i know its unlikely but IF it did)....would it get symptoms(like start pussing or something??)

Coz i get scared of the thought of a serious infection maybe being in my blood stream and me not knowing about it. If there was an infection i'd rather know so that i could get it sorted.

Thanks

Nikki

Re: Mrsa

Most likely it would show signs of infection. My son is a nurse and he somehow got a MRSA infection on his upper thigh 2 weeks ago. He had been in contact with 2 patients that had the MRSA virus. Can't recall whether he had a sore there before or not.

He told me it swelled up, got very red and had pus in the center. Obviously they put him on strong antibiotics and had him rest and stay off his legs for a few days. After doing that he is fine.

Stay well...JJ....
