I expect this sort of question comes up a lot, but after failing to get any real help from my Dr yesterday, i'm looking online for a solution!
Every morning when I wake up, my tongue is yellow and a little coated, especially at the back. It doesn't look healthy at all to me. It used to always be nice and pink. I cant remember when it changed, but its been this way for probably a year or 2!
I don't know if it's related but I also have very bad 'morning breath'.
I saw my Doctor about my yellow tongue yesterday. I was always told that Doctors can tell alot about someone from the look of their tongue. Anyway, he wasn't at all concerned. He said ''it's yellow because you sleep with your mouth open''.
But i know that I dont! He's wrong. I know from experience that it's pointless arguing with Doctors. They are very stubborn.
I really want to wake up with a nice pink tongue like I used too.
I brush my teeth and my tongue every morning and night followed with mouthwash.
I drink quite alot of water with a varied diet of lean protein, veggies, carbs and fruit.
I tried taking pro-biotic pills/Acidophilus etc on the recommendation of a friend. Didn't seem to help.
I've used all kinds of products ON the tongue (baking soda/salt/Grapefruit seed extract/toothpaste etc etc) which temporarily gives me a nice looking tongue, but it always reverts back within about 4 hours
There surely has to be a solution. Anyone have ideas?
