I've been having aching calves for last several yrs. Aching in calves-starts after I sit down after working all day. Sometimes the pain is so bad that I just want to cry, even thought about going to hospital on those nights. I've used asprin cream, icy hot cream, heating pad nothing really helps. The pain is a dull and deep ache. Doesn't radiate anywhere else. I take Lortab for the pain and that helps me to go to sleep with heating pad on my leg, finally. I've tried rubbing my legs and that helps as long as I do it, but as soon as I stop they start aching again. It's getting to the point I don't know what to do or what it could be. I don't have restless leg syndrome. I've had nights where I go from bed to couch to chair to floor with my legs up-nothing helps. Any help with this problem?????
Sometimes aching legs can be caused by a lack of potassium. Do you eat bananas, watermelon, cantelope? All of these are full of potassium and may help the aches. Also, a muscle relaxer might also help with the aches.
