Nose Bleed and Headache?

My boyfriend got a nose bleed this morning, and tonight around 7:30 he got another one. Both times were a good amount of blood and wouldn't stop without having tissue in his nose for a while. A little bit before the second nose bleed came, he got a headache. Are random nose bleeds and headaches a serious matter or? What could it be? It's starting to worry me.
Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Nose Bleed and Headache?

Having one nosebleed is not a big deal. I remember when I was young, lots of kids got them during school

But having several of them as an adult along with headaches may need to be looked at with a doc. Some people who have frequent nosebleeds have low hemoglobin, which is anemia. When I saw my ENT and mentioned to him that sometimes I have blood in my snot, he ordered a CBC in order to check for anemia. My hemoglobin was normal, but then again I wasn't have full blown nosebleeds, just a little in my mucus from when I blew my nose. Tell your bf he should see his family practice doc
