I am a 35 yr old female that was perfectly healthy until this year. I began having chills, stomach aches, extreme fatigue & weight loss in March. I had lost 10 lbs and my lymph nodes were swollen so my Dr gave me anitibiotics. By April I had lost another 10. He did a CBC which showed low white & red blood cells. He has been doing blood work every 4 to 6 weeks and counts have slowly went from the low range to normal/low. I have now lost a total of 25 pounds. I still have chills and my hands and feet turn white then blue ~ he diagosed me with Raynaulds. He ordered a CT of my stomach which showed nothing, Gastric tests which showed nothing and then referred me to Rheumatologist who also did lots of blood work. I had a negative ANA but other blood results were inconclusive (not low enough or high enough to make a diagnosis). She said my symptoms are similar to an autoimmune disorder. She is going to redo blood work in Dec along with a bone density test. My concern is the weight loss and chills. Some days I have to wear layers of clothing, multiple pairs of socks and use a heater by my desk! This is way abnormal for me ~ I have ALWAYS been the one freezing everyone else out with my AC. My family is also very concerned and I keep telling them that everything is fine, but I am a bit nervous! I was wondering if anyone else had the same thing and what questions I should be asking? Or if there is anything else that can determine quicker what is wrong. Basically we're waiting...
Symptoms (I don't know which ones are important so I'm listing all):
Weight Loss 25 lbs (from 150 to 125 in 4 months)
Raynaulds (cold hands & feet)
Chills
Joint Pain
Swollen Eyes w/Dark Circles
Mild Pain in right side of neck
Make sure you get thyroid tests, all of these: TSH, free T4, free T3, and the three thyroid antibodies (TSI, TPO, and Tg). The two most common thyroid diseases are autoimmune; you may have one of them.
