Talking Middle finger numb

Hi there,
I am new to this forum.
Now I have this issue to do with my middle finger.
It has been numb for a while now quite a few weeks. I am a bit confused as to what it could be. I think it may be a trapped nerve perhaps. It doesnt seem to circulate properly. It's mainly my middle finger on my right hand. Also at times my fingers are cold also. But my main issue is my middle finger. Please can you give me some suggestions as to what it could be?

Re: Middle finger numb

For me....it's mostly related to my neck or upper back.

But, it could also be pressure in your hand from tentonitis, carpal tunnel, repetative strain injury...etc.

Do you have any problems with your neck? posture? job related? too much mousing? the way you drive? sleeping position? etc....

Re: Middle finger numb

I had a friend who had a condition called "trigger finger"

He complained about haing difficulty moving his index finger as it felt like it was sticking when he bent it. Also it would go numb at times.

If it has lasted for awhile, you might want to get it checked out regardless.

Re: Middle finger numb

In that case the most likely cause would be carpal tunnel syndrome in his right hand, the sore elbows being unrelated. Alternatively, another (much less likely) possibility would be the OP having a (rare) normal anatomical variation where the ulnar nerve gives cutaneous distribution to the medial 3 fingers.

Not sure why you are suggesting radial nerve.
