rib pain in my back

Hi
Periodically I get these pains in my ribs but in my mid back. I guess the best way to describe the pain is that its similar to a stitch you might get in your front rib cage when exercising. Its annoying for sure. It doesn't limit my breathing but it is more painful at the height of a deep breath. Its there no matter what position i'm in-sitting, standing, lying etc.
I haven't really been able to determine that there is anything that triggers it or brings it on. Nor can I really say that I've found anything to ease it. Sometimes it appears that Advil "helps" but I can't really say that it stops it.
It happened a couple of years ago and I had a chest x-ray, abdominal scan, and complete physical. Everything was good and shortly thereafter it went away. Now its back. Anyone deal with anything like this?
Thank you
Dean
