Re: so scared. can not stand living this way anymore

Did you ask your doctor about Meniere's Disease? It's inner ear and brain fog has been noted.

Hope you're feeling better today

hi,you need to trust your doctor, when he says its anxiety then it proberly is anxiety, they dont lie simply because they dont know what it is
you say you hear of people that have gone on for years like this, that is not usualy because they cant find out whats wrong with them its usualy that they wont accept the diagnosis

Re: so scared. can not stand living this way anymore

I actually registered just now to get answers for myself, but saw this and had to respond first.

Please look up something called depersonalization disorder. I have it, and it might be what is causing your problems. Some symptoms of DPD:

Feeling "out of it", spacey, drunk or on drugs (even though you're not). This is the most common symptom
fatigue

A traumatic or disturbing event or illness can bring on DPD. Marijuana use is also a known trigger (not that you were using it, just that it's common). That this started while you were heaving is a good indication that this might be the problem.

I had every test out there and there was absolutely nothing wrong with my head. People tend to think of anxiety as something that causes people to have panic attacks and lose control. Anxiety can be a lot more subtle and still cause huge disruptions in your life.

Since you haven't had any answers from test results that you're happy with, why not give your doctor's anxiety suggestion a chance and see if a suggested treatment helps?

Re: so scared. can not stand living this way anymore

Depersonalization disorder is typically a symptom of an underlying anxiety disorder, although a lot of people swear they have never experienced any other anxiety symptoms (I had panic disorder for years before DPD set it).

Some doctors will occasionally prescribe an anti-anxiety medication if the DPD symptoms start causing you distress, but medication isn't the recommended long-term treatment of choice because most anti-anxiety meds can make symptoms of DPD worse. I went through a lot of doctors, treatments, and books before I finally found a book that helped me tremendously. I don't know if I can cite the book here, but if I can it's called Overcoming Depersonalization Disorder. I checked a copy out from my library but my husband eventually bought it for me.

In any event, it's something to consider and discuss with your doctor. I hope you find the help you need!

Re: so scared. can not stand living this way anymore

mines been going on for three months and i mean i am a little more sensitive to light but its not to bad. i have not had a mri yet. iv been trying hard but doctors are just telling me it will show nothing so its pointless to get one, which i think is kind of my decision. i finally got a doctor who agrees and she is sending in a request for me to get one. i kind of hope it would just be anxiety but i dont see how. im getting no answers and its getting annoying!

Re: so scared. can not stand living this way anymore
