Unhappy Help with Symptoms and Kidney Disease

Hello,

I am currently 28 years old and was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease (CKD) in 2004 and am currently in Stage 3. I have had a stable creatinine level since then due to a medication regiment of Allopurinol(300mg/day for gout) enalapril maleate(20mg/dayfor BP) and Potassium Citrate(10MEQ/day prevent kidney stones).

Starting in January I have been having constant acute gout attacks where the affected area began in my ankle and has now ascended to my knee. I was prescribed a titrated amount of prednisone to control the gout since then. Every time I finish that regiment, in about 2 days the gout returns and it seems to be getting worse and ascending higher in my leg. Fluid retention is also increasing such that my knee can only bend slightly making it difficult to climb stairs and walk.

Also since January I have been getting fevers of a very aggressive nature needing antibiotics each time. Other symptoms with the fever include intermittent sore throats, and very powerful headaches. Diarrhea was also present dehydrating me and require an ER visit twice to get fluids.

Other symptoms I have noticed include:

-Extreme Increased fatigue, after 2 hours of activity I feel run down and need a break. I just overall feel very run down constantly.
-Depression, I feel very sad a lot but at other times I feel fine.
-I have an increased appetite but I think that is from the constant prednisone.
- I have random lower back pain.
- Increased white blood cell count in blood work

I have been to my nephrologist and my blood work is showing my creatinine level is steady at 2.0 so he is leaning towards this not being a kidney issue. He is currently running a bunch of tests to check for systematic diseases. He doesn't think that is it either because I have no blood in my urine. But I always have had large amounts of protein making my albumin level high.

Can anyone help??
