Angry Allergic reactions to new dentures

I am wondering if it is possible I am having an allergic reaction to a set of
dentures I received about 3 months ago. I have a constant burning sensation in my mouth the whole time I'm wearing them and my face turns red.

I have been diagnosed as allergic to zinc, I am wondering if the new plastics
they are using can cause allergic reactions.

I have had sets of dentures before and this has never happened.
I have ruled out high blood pressure and my sugar levels are normal.

I have had several facial reconstruction surgeries, that's how we found out
about the zinc.

Is it possible I am allergic to my dentures. When I take them out at night my face is not red in the morning until I put them on.

Re: Allergic reactions to new dentures

I am asthma-allergic to some of the new plastics. I found out about my plastic allergies when I purchased eyeglasses over the internet and when I tried them on it caused breathing problems. So..... I searched for an Internet eyeglass place that still used the old CR-39 plastics; ordered a pair of glasses and had no asthma problems with the CR-39.

I got a TCS flexible, plastic dental plate in January 2012. Prior to ordering it, I asked the dentist for samples of the various plastics, in order to test them to see if they could cause me to have an allergic reaction. I selected one of the plastic samples, and, not only have I not had an allergic reaction to my new flexible, plastic dental plate, I LOVE it! It fits and works great, almost the same as natural teeth.

Sorry that you are having problems with your new dentures. Is there any way that you can get your dentist to provide new dentures using a different plastic material, at a minimal charge?
