Used Mouthwash while on Ampicillin

I'm very worried. I just took Pentrexyl (ampicillin) after brushing my teeth and using mouthwash which contains alcohol. I'm worried I will have bad reaction to it. After taking it, I started feeling weird...my stomach had "burning" sensation. I may be overthinking things..I am aware I did not swallow any mouthwash, but still worried.

Re: Used Mouthwash while on Ampicillin

I'm not aware of nor did I find any admonition to avoid alcohol while on this medication. As far as I can find you should be able to drink alcohol while on this med. It can cause digestive issues so that may be your problem.

Re: Used Mouthwash while on Ampicillin

I agree. there is no reason to worry about combo of Ampicillin and using mouthwash. Some people get stomach upset from Ampicillin, so take it with some food to prevent that.
