this pain comes and goes several times a month sometimes for a day or two at a time. can get quite painful running down the inside of my thigh, knee and surrounding area... a bit right behind the knee, a pinching feeling. and in my inner calves, sometimes my feet are even sore at the bottom.
right below my knee about five inches towards the inside i feel a weird sorta pulsating, well that's not really what it is, it feels like i have an elastic band inside being stretched and tightened over and over, it doesn't hurt it just kinda spasms.
my lower back is also really sore and responds well to stretching
i find the warrior pose will sometimes help it, but it will come back. and it goes away when i walk it out, i sit a lot at the computer on a crappy chair.
i worry a lot about DVT, and three months ago i went in for chest pain and they ran a test to see if i had clots in my body which came back negative, also when this started, about two years ago i had two leg ultrasounds that came back negative for DVT.
so i don't suppose it would be a dvt since i've had the pain before and after the clotting test (probably a d dimer test i'm assuming?)
could this be sciatica? i got the impression sciatica pain went down your outer leg not the inner leg.
i just took a potassium supplement tonight because i also remembered that i was on diuretics for a while and got the pinchy inner thigh and got my blood tested and the potassium was low, the supplements helped get rid of that pinch.
not sure if the pinchy thigh, the pain down the inside of leg, sore knee area and inner calf spasms are connected.
i could google each and come up with sinister results for each thing. or just think they are all connected (or some). i just would like to see if anyone has experience with sciatica.
Hi, I have sciatica and bulging discs and get a cortisone shot 4 times a year in my back. My husband just had a cortisone shot for pes anerine bursitis which is a pain or inflammation of a bursa in your knee. You can look it up on the internet. It is attached to tendons of three muscles attached to the shin bone and over this bursa. It can happen to elderly who sit a lot or people who sit at their desks with their knees bent all day. It causes pain on the inner side of the knee, just below the joint. You ice packs on your knee or leg 20-30 minutes every 3-4 hours or get a cortisone shot. This may not be your problem but if you go to a pain specialist he or she will find the source of your pain and help you manage it. Best wishes.
