Muscles contracting in left hand

I suffered heat exhaustion last summer, 2011. My muscles drawed or contracted in my legs and arms with spasms and excruciating pain. After drinking a cup and one half of pickle juice, I recovered without going to the hospital. I drank water and gatorade prior to the pickle juice but they didn't help. Since then, I have had drawing in my left hand a couple of times but didn't last long. It happened twice today and I need to know if this is a vitamin deficiency or could it be the beginning of a muscle disease.
