New to bupropion

My doc just put me on 300mg bupropion xl been almost a week. Been very angry at times would like to know if this is normal? Also kind of hazy but like I said not even a week yet. Would just like to hear other peoples experience as far as mood changes, weight loss-gain.

Re: New to bupropion

Was the anger there before you started the med? That is a symptom of depression, which the bupropion should help. It is, in general, a very good medication. It is likely to suppress appetite, not increase it, so weight gain shouldn't be an issue, but weight loss can occur. I am surprised Dr started you on 300mg, as usually it is started at a lower dose then raised after a week or two. It will take about 2-3 weeks for it to be working fully, so you can't expect too much at this point. It has both a calming and energizing effect, so 2 of the most common problems in depression (anxiety, irritability and fatigue) respond to it.
