Redness around the mouth.
Hi there,
I've been dealing with this redness around my mouth for about a couple weeks or so now. Maybe longer. When I first started to notice it, it started off as a redness above the left corner of my mouth, I thought it was a cold sore, so I started putting stuff on it right away, that didn't help.
I think it was the next night that my lips swelled up so much, it was excruciatingly painful and my lips were, I guess for the lack of a better word, leaking this clear fluid that to me kind of tasted like tears or thereabouts.
The swelling has gone down now for the most part, but what I've been dealing with mostly since then is an itchy redness around my lips, especially up top. Every morning when I wake up, I feel like I have some sort of coating on my lips. I've thought I was maybe allergic to something, but I can't think of what and nothing I've tired as far as antihistamine seem to help at all.
While searching the internet for 'red around the mouth' and so forth, I came upon this thread: http://www.healthboards.com/boards/allergies/463540-red-around-mouth.html and one of the people said they had used an over the counter fungal cream or something and that it cleared up.. What I was wondering, is what sort of anti fungal stuff it was? What would the person recommend? I'm willing to try anything at this point and what I've been dealing with sounds a lot like what they were describing.
