Constant pain in right abdomen, not gallbladder.
I have been have pain in my right side right below my ribs for about a month now. It started with a bad stomach ache and shooting pains in my lower abdomen by my bladder. This went on for about a week while I felt fatigued and feverish. I went to the doctor and without him doing any type of tests whatsoever, said it was Ulcerative Colitis. I was extremely skeptical of this but I started on a course of Flagyl for it. Exactly a week after my initial pain started, I suddenly got a pain in my side that felt as if I had been running. Like a side stitch but it didn't go away. About 5 hours later I went to the emergency room and they did a CT scan. Everything came up normal. So I went back to the doctor the next week and he has me go for an ultrasound to check gallbladder and the other organs on the right side. It came back normal. After that I went to get a HIDA scan to rule out my gallbladder and it came back at functioning at 72.9% which is in the normal range. I finished all of the Flagyl. I started on Prilosec and finished the 14 day course and now I am just taking Culturelle. I still have this constant pain on my right side and get stabbing pains that shoot up my body if I hit a bump in my truck. It has been a month and I have to wait till the end of November to see a credible gastroenterologist. I myself am thinking this is a duodenum ulcer because after I drank last weekend my symptoms got a whole lot worse. What are your thoughts?
