Hi intothenight, since this involves the parts of your eye, like fluids, vitreous humor, retina,vessels in eye. I would look very carefully not to mix up the terms.[/list]1. Optician- someone that checks vision only & can cut glasses lens 2. Optometrist- a doctorate in vision & diseases of eye, only thing they can prescribe is a glasses or contacts prescription, possibly prosthetics can diagnose diseases of eye but cant prescribe medicine that requires a prescription or do surgery or invasive testing or surgery of eye3. Opthalmologist- a medical dr that can prescribe medicine, order & perform invasive testing and surgery of the eye regarding diseases, conditions, visual acuity(vision testing,glasses& contacts). Into, i would see an opthalmologist& these are my definitions of these drs from a regular point of view, my own. Lol
