| Re: Dopamine Level
Dopamine is usually measured only in clinical research settings, but it is strongly believed that dopamine deficiency causes or is associated with RLS. Drugs that enhance Dopamine are often used to treat RLS, for example Levadopa/Carbidopa (Sinemet). Other deficiencies associated with RLS are iron, measured best by a serum ferritin, the stored iron in liver, and in some Vit D deficiency, which can also be measured in blood. A neurologist or sleep specialist usually treats and evaluates RLS patients.
