Hard, pea-size lymph nodes noticed in groin

I have revently lost a lot of weight intentionally and am leaner than I have ever been during my adult years. I recently noticed that I can feel a small ball on both sides of my groin. I am not sure if this is normal or not, since they are firm. I am guessing that they are lymph nodes. If I rub the node for any amount of time, is does seem to be a little painful. Does anyone know if this is normal or if this may be a particular problem?

Lymph nodes in the groin can be felt and should be smaller than 1 cm. They should feel movable and not hard or matted together or fixed to the underlying tissue. If you have any symptoms such as fatigue, loss of appetite, fever or night sweats, you need to get them checked. If you are unsure and they are causing concern, I would see your Dr. It is better to get reassured than worry. Also, if your weight loss was faster or easier than usual, I would be concerned as well.

Thanks. I think I will go to the doctor to make sure they are not abnormal.
