Diagnosed last Sunday with temporal arteritis, pending biopsy.
In meantime prescribed 60 mg Prednisone for sharp, intermittent, debilitating pain in right side of head(onset began previous Thursday.). By following Thursday/ Friday, am seeing optometrist for what feels like something in my eye, along with redness, itching along lower lid. Prescribed Prednisone drops.
Used drops yesterday-still a presence-; felt an uncomfortable "presence at hairline on forehead before going to bed. Cleaned with alcohol.
Got up this morning and what do I see? A mass of bumps/places all over forehead/ hairline area. Am at convenient care by nine and what does the lady say- " Oh, you have shingles". Are you serious? And I was about to be scheduled for a temporal arteritis biopsy? Did I dodge a bullet or is it possible that I have both?
I choose to believe the former because the sharp pains are gone, and there are more signs of rash in other parts of my head, esp on same side as eye issue. Eye is still a problem, but real issue with vision so far.
Anybody else out there have similar experience?
